# 🦊 Furries only 🦊
The kinds of scammers we see on Telegram can be broadly split into two kinds: those who appear to be furries, and those who don't.
> [!hint] Appear to be furries
> - Will usually have a fursona as their profile pics (sometimes multiple different ones)
> - Will have a bio that talks about the "furry fandom" or "furry friends"
> - Will join channels associated with the furry fandom, such as furry groups for conventions, cities, regions, or furry-specific hobby chats (e.g. a furry VRChat group)
> - May have an animal reference in their name or username (e.g. Paul Wolftail)
> [!fail] Normies (not-furries)
> - Will have a real human being as their profile picture, or objects or emoji's, but not a fursona
> - Their bio won't mention anything to do with the furry fandom
> - They don't specifically target furries, furry chats, or alter their methods for targeting furries
# 🐺 Why we don't track non-furries 🐺
For the purposes of FAST, **we only care about accounts that appear to be furries**. Those who don't seem to be furries are generally _easy for furries to spot_, as they make no effort to blend in. It's very obvious that they are not genuine when they try to join group chats or DM people, so the furry fandom _doesn't need more help detecting_ and protecting against those.
Non-furry accounts _can be created very quickly_ too, and require little time investment in terms of building a profile or lurking in chats. It would be impossible for us to track all of these, and would clog up all of our time and effort.
# 🥣 Will they blend? 🥣
It is the **scammers who are getting better at blending in that we are interested in here**. The fandom is a welcoming place, and so they can easily blend in if chat admins or regular furries are not clued up on everything going on in the world of scammers, which they can't expected to be.
And then there are _real furries who are scamming other furries_ in the fandom. They can be harder to detect, as they don't trigger any red flags for being in the wrong country or not being familiar with the culture of the fandom.
This is where the [Furry Assisted Scam Tracking](https://t.me/scamtracking/915) project comes in!
